EXPANDING YOUR WRITING HORIZONS


Whether you're a new writer looking for ways to build your career or an established writer who needs some fresh blood, you'll find inspiration in this workshop. Taught by a 30-year veteran writer who has won acclaim for her work in numerous formats, you'll learn here how you can move into non-fiction, poetry, screenwriting, paid blogging, and more. The workshop will look first at non-fiction, beginning with short form then move onto book-length non-fiction followed by detailed looks at screenwriting, poetry, and paid blogging. The course will touch on game writing and comics. Students will be provided with a PDF including readings lists, markets, formatting notes, and other details.

About the Instructor


Lisa Morton is a screenwriter, author of non-fiction books, and prose writer whose work was described by the American Library Association’s Readers’ Advisory Guide to Horror as “consistently dark, unsettling, and frightening.” She is a six-time winner of the Bram Stoker Award®, the author of four novels and around 200 short stories, and a world-class Halloween and paranormal expert. Her recent releases include Calling the Spirits: A History of Seances, The Art of the Zombie Movie, and Placerita, a novella co-written with John Palisano.
